A Mini-B USB cable is included with the board so it's ready to go right out of the package. The new Board of Education USB programming board (Rev. A) allows you to connect with the USB ports on your desktop or laptop. The remaining features of the BOE-USB are shared with the BOE-Serial version.
The Board of Education Full Kit contains a Board of Education (USB) carrier board, BASIC Stamp 2 module, pluggable wires, USB cable, cd-rom, and power supply. Each set of Stamps in Class curriculum requires a BASIC Stamp 2 module with a Board of Education programming board (known as a "BOE" by our customers). The BOE was designed in coordination with our educational customers to teach microcontroller programming and interfacing.
Even if you aren't using our guides, this kit is still an ideal project board for instructor-authored BASIC Stamp lessons. A 9V DC 300ma power supply is included with the BOE Full Kit (#28802).
If you are a beginner, we recommend purchasing the BOE (USB) Full Kit (#28802) and the What's a Microcontroller? (#28152) entry-level tutorial and parts kit.
Some of the features of the BOE (USB) Full Kit:
- Mechanically interlocked power supply to prevent dual connection of wall-pack and 9-volt battery
- USB connector for BS2-IC programming
- P0 - P15 I/O pins
- Vdd and Vss connections brought adjacent to 5.1 x 3.5 cm (2" x 1 3/8") breadboard area
- Includes set of ten (10) color-coded 22 gauge wires
- Female 10-pin dual row connector for optional AppMods (more breadboard space)
- Traces on top of the board show connections between BS2-IC and breadboard connections
