The Anglerfish Learn to Solder Kit is a great way to introduce soldering to young student enthusiasts. Using the latest technology of PC board routing, the student is immediately hooked on learning to soldering because the project is based on a most unusual ocean creature - the cunning Anglerfish.
Using their deceptiveness, the Anglerfish lures pray with a bioluminescent "fishing pole" like antenna near the opening of their camouflaged mouth. Intrigued by the glow, a fish or other creatures investigates the oddity - realizing only too late they are dinner for this clever ocean trickster.
They begin by soldering the blue "Dog Bone" resistors, orange rectangular capacitors, yellow trimmer capacitors as well as the vintage "tropical fish capacitor" which is very rare and valuable. The student completes the kit by aligning the leads of a bright and colorful rainbow flashing LED (observing polarity) so the "antenna" of the Anglerflish lights up. Not only will the student be learning a valuable skill, but the student will also have a deep sense of accomplishment to continue their electronic exploration!
