Everyone has a high performance general coverage SW radio, but who needs a converter for LF? YOU do! You’ll be amazed, a ton of exciting signals down there with hundreds of beacons from around the world along with time and frequency standards from various governments. There are lots of hobbyists running in the one watt license-free band and the FCC is even considering a Ham band with 200 watt power! Many newer SW receivers say they will receive down low, but check the specs, just because it tunes down to 100 KHz doesn't mean it can actually hear anything there! Most receiver front-ends optimized for HF don't work well at LF. We designed the low bander to hear it all, a 7 pole low pass filter along with a overload resistant switching mixer squashes spurious birdies and annoying interference. Hook-up is a snap, with built-in antenna switching between regular and LF antennas. All signals are converted up to 4 MHz, so if you want to hear 136 KHz - just tune your rig to 4.136 MHz, its that easy. We give you antenna hints as well as web links for info on the exciting world below 400 KHz! Runs on 12 vdc, add matching case & nob set for a really professional looking converter. Runs on 12VDC, order our matching AC125 power supply. (While we said low frequency, no this won’t pickup audio or even your dog whistle, you can only go so low!
